The
Coalition for Healthy Families and Workplaces, formed in 2009, works to support paid leave issues throughout Pennsylvania. Recently, the Coalition led the charge to pass paid sick days legislation in Philadelphia. The Coalition also worked to prevent preemption of city-based paid sick days laws in Pennsylvania and stands as nationally recognized paid sick days advocates.
The
Women and Girls Foundation, established in 2002, has led successful advocacy efforts to pass city, county, and state legislation related to women's health, safety, and economic security. The Foundation helped advance new policies providing paid family leave to City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County employees, and WGF is an active member of the Workers Roundtable, which led Pittsburgh's efforts to achieve paid sick days.
